History of Amar Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar

Amar Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar

Sukhdev's full name was Sukhdev Thapar. He was a major revolutionary of the Indian freedom struggle. He was hanged on 23 March 1931 along with Bhagat Singh and Rajguru. His martyrdom is still respected in India. Like Sukhdev Bhagat Singh, he too cherished the dream of freedom since childhood. Both were students of Lahore National College. Both were born in the same year in Lyallpur and were martyred together.

Sukhdev Thapar was born in Lyallpur, Punjab to Mr. Ramlal Thapar and Mrs. Indira Gandhi. In the Falgun month of Vikrami Samvat 1964, on Shukla Paksha Saptami, on May 15, 1907 respectively, Rally Devi at quarter to eleven in the afternoon. Due to the death of his father three months before his birth, his uncle Achintram fully supported his mother in his upbringing. Sukhdev's maternal grandmother also raised him like her own son.

There are two views about Sukhdev's birthplace: some believe that he was born in Naughar district of Ludhiana city, while others believe that he was born in Lalaipur. But actually he was born in Ludhiana. His father's name was Ramlal and mother's name was Rally Devi. His father died three months before his mother was due to give birth to her next child. In such a situation, Achintram Thapar (Sukhdev's uncle) brought his family to Lyallpur to help his younger brother's wife. That's why Sukhdev's childhood was spent in Lyallpur.

Sukhdev was brought up by his uncle Achintram Thapar. His grandmother also loved him very much. Both loved him like their own son and Sukhdev also respected him a lot and used to listen to his every word. Sukhdev's early life was spent in Lyallpur and this was also his primary education. Later he was admitted to the National College for further studies. The National College was founded by Congress leaders from the Punjab region under the chairmanship of Lala Lajpat Rai. Most of the students who participated in the non-cooperation movement were admitted to this college during the non-cooperation movement.

Naujawan Bharat Sabha was established in 1926 in Lahore. The main contributors were Sukhdev, Bhagat Singh, Yashpal, Bhagwati Charan and Jayachandra Vidyarankar. After the failure of the non-cooperation movement, the Najwan Bharat Sabha attracted the attention of the youth of the country. Basically their program consisted of discussion on moral, literary and social ideas, discussion on indigenous issues, national integration, economic life, physical exercise, culture and civilization of India. Each member state must take an oath to put national interests first. However, due to some differences, it was not very active. In April 1928 it was re-established as "Naujawan Bharat Sabha" and its headquarters were established at Amritsar.

Help Bhagat Singh to escape:

Who attacked Lala Lajpat Rai with a stick. Bhagat Singh was seen by one or two policemen while shooting J. P. Saunders. There was always a fear that Bhagat Singh would be arrested for the slightest mistake. During this, Sukhdev helped in getting Bhagat Singh out of Lahore.

To change the face of Bhagat Singh, he cut his hair and also shaved his beard. But even after all this, his identity remains. So Sukhdev thought of a trick and had to go to Durga Babi (wife of Bhagwati Charan Vora and employee of the revolutionary organization) at 8 pm, explain the whole situation to Bhagat and get him out of here. Not by becoming your own meme. There is also a possibility of firing. Durga Babi agreed to help and at 6 a.m. the next morning the Calcutta Post managed to get Bhagat out of Lahore. The cop who shot Mr. Sanders walked right under the policemen and couldn't even touch them.

Constitution of the Central Committee:

In September 1928, a secret meeting of leading revolutionaries from North India took place on the ruins of Firoshi Kotla in Delhi. A central committee was formed. The organization was called the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army. Sukhdev was entrusted with the task of organizing Punjab. According to Sukhdev's best friend Shiv Verma, who affectionately called him "Gramin", Bhagat Singh was the party's political leader and Sukhdev the organiser, and it was he who built the building brick by brick. He took care of the smallest wish of every colleague. There were other leaders of this group.

Death of Sukhdev:

After the Central Assembly Hall bombing in Delhi, Sukhdev and his associates were caught by the police and sentenced to death. Sukhdev Thapar, Bhagat Singh and Shivram Rajguru were hanged on 23 March 1931 and their bodies were mysteriously cremated on the banks of the Sutlej River. Sukhdev sacrificed his life for the country and was martyred at the age of just 24.

Many Indian patriots sacrificed their lives to make India independent. One such patriot was Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar, who sacrificed his life to free India from the shackles of the British. Sukhdev was a childhood friend of the great revolutionary Bhagat Singh. Both grew up together, studied together and together became martyrs for Mother India in the fight to liberate their country.

They were hanged on March 23, 1931 at 19:33 in the Central Jail and these three crazy people who dreamed of India's freedom with open eyes slept forever.
