What is Mother’s Day:
Mother's Day is such a day, on which all the mothers around the world give love and affection to the children. Celebrating Mother's Day or Mattri Divas is a great celebration of motherhood, a very important member of the family, as well as her maternal bond and honoring mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in countries in almost all parts of the world. Celebrated, it is celebrated approximately in the months of March or May.
America's Anna M.Jarvis deserves the credit for making Mother's Day a household name around the world and for keeping the tradition alive. Jarvis is called. It is celebrated every year in the second week of May on Sunday.
Why is Mother's Day celebrated only on the second Sunday of May?:
America's Anna M. Jarvis is credited with making Mother's Day the best and starting to celebrate it all over the world. Anna was born in West Virginia, USA. His mother, Anna Rees Jarvis, worked as a Sunday school teacher at the same church for 2 decades. One day, his mother was teaching a lesson on mothers in the Bible during the Sunday school session. Jarvis was about 12 years old at the time. While teaching the lesson, his mother told about a wish. She heard her mother say that there would one day be a day dedicated to celebrating many mothers and motherhood. At that time there were days dedicated only to men which were celebrated. But no such day was made for women.
Campaign launched after mother's death:
Two years after Ana's mother passed away, Ana and her friends organised a campaign together. She sought and won public support for Mother's Day as a national holiday. She had observed that some children usually forget the love and contribution of their mother. And so she wanted that when the mother was alive, the children should respect and honor her and appreciate her contributions, glorify her. She hoped that when this day would be celebrated in the name of Mother's Day, the bond between the mother and the whole family would be strengthened. And thus on May 8, 1914, the United States Parliament declared the second Sunday of May as Mother's Day. And the then President of America also declared this day as a national holiday.
Importance of Mother's Day:
A mother is not just a woman who takes care of the child growing in her womb for nine months, but she teaches like a teacher and mentor throughout her life, tells the difference between right and wrong and shares her experiences. She starts improving the future of her child. Mother is the one who is the best in the family and in taking care of her child she sacrifices her whole life for the children.
That's why all of us together should celebrate this day in a different and good way, with love and obey and respect our mother and father.
