Veer abdul hameed in english

Veer Abdul Hameed was born on July 1, 1933 in a middle class family living in Dharampur village of Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Mohammad Usman Masoodi and mother's name was Sakina Begum. He was a Muslim tailor by caste. Clothes were stitched here, this was their profession. But Abdul Hameed did not feel like sewing at all .

But he was interested in wrestling and knew tricks. And not only this, he used to use his mind in running sticks, swimming in the river and aiming with a slingshot. There was another very good trick in him that he used to help people. And always whenever someone came to ask him for help, he did not hold back from helping.

That's why they did not tolerate any injustice. Once upon a time, whenever the zamindar's gaon reached the field of a poor farmer to forcefully cut and take away his crop, Abdul Hameed used to stop them and they had to return empty-handed. Similarly, he used to show his courage by rescuing young men and women who were drowning in the river of a flood-affected village.

When Abdul Hameed turned 21, he went to join the railways to earn a living, but he wanted to serve the country by joining the army. So he joined the Indian army in the year 1954 as a soldier. Hameed was commissioned into the Grenadiers Infantry Regiment on 27 December 1954. After being posted in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdul Hameed used to keep an eye on the infiltrators coming from Pakistan, and he also caught a terrorist dacoit Inayat Ali, then the army promoted him and made him a lance hero in the army to encourage him. When China backstabbed India in 1962, Abdul Hameed was posted in Nefa at that time, he could not get a special opportunity to fulfill his dreams. His desire was to fight with the enemy and kill him by showing some special might.

When Pakistan invaded India in 1965. Abdul Hameed again got the opportunity to fulfill his duty towards his native land. Before going to war, his words to his own brother are as follows, "In the Paltan, those who have a chakra are respected a lot, see Jhunnan, we will fight in the war and return with one or the other chakra".

Thus his prophecy came true and on 10th September 1965, when the Pakistan Army with its ulterior motives was ready to encircle Amritsar and take it under its control, Abdul Hameed saw the Pak Army advancing with its impenetrable tanks. Abdul Hameed, without any concern for his life, parked his gun jeep behind the mound and destroyed three enemy tanks by raining shells. After this the Pak officers were in anger and surprise, they caught sight of Abdul Hameed who was obstructing their mission and surrounded and fired bullets at him. Before he could destroy another tank of his, he was killed by enemy fire. Abdul Hameed's bravery, valor and sacrifice inspired the rest of the army and drove the enemy away.

Abdul Hameed, at the age of 32, sacrificed his life for the country, this hero is saluted for his martyrdom. And posthumously he was awarded Param Vir Chakra, the highest military honour, which was received by his wife Mrs. Rasuli Bibi. Apart from this, he was also awarded Samar Seva Medal, Military Service Medal and Defense Medal.
